Towne Park Plantation
Located north of Wentzville, Missouri, St. Charles County purchased what was locally known as the "Pink Plantation." This structure was originally built in the early 1830's and operated for many years as a tobacco plantation. It was the county's intention to renovate the building and develop the site as an interpretative park, the Town Park Plantation. When the building was destroyed by fire, EDM was retained to document the original building and design an accurate reconstruction. Where possible, materials were salvaged from the original building or, when necessary, historically accurate new or reused materials were specified. Through research, the new building will accurately replicate the condition of the original when it was built. This project is the recipient of the the McReynolds Award, presented by the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation.
